Use this GMC lease calculator to price a lease on a Sierra, Yukon, Acadia, Terrain or Hummer EV before you sign. It shows the monthly payment, what you pay upfront and the total cost once fees, tax and mileage are added.
GMC trucks and SUVs have high sticker prices, and Denali or AT4 trims push them higher. On a lease that means small changes in the residual or money factor move the payment by tens of dollars, so it is worth checking every number on the quote.
GMC Lease Calculator
Enter the numbers from your GMC dealer’s lease worksheet, or keep the example values to see how a typical lease works, then press Calculate Lease.
Estimates only. The starting values are an example, not a GMC offer. Your dealer’s lease worksheet and your lease agreement list the actual MSRP, selling price, residual value, money factor and fees. Changing the term or mileage moves the residual by an estimated amount.
What You Need From the Dealer
Ask the GMC dealer for a lease worksheet before you agree to anything. It should show these numbers, which go straight into the calculator.
| Number | What it means |
|---|---|
| MSRP | The sticker price with destination and options. The residual is a percentage of this. |
| Selling price (cap cost) | The price you negotiated, plus any accessories added to the lease. |
| Residual | What GM Financial expects the truck or SUV to be worth at lease end. |
| Money factor | The lease rate. Multiply by 2,400 for the APR. |
| Fees and incentives | Acquisition fee, doc fee, GMC lease cash and any loyalty or conquest offers. |
The Four Numbers Behind a GMC Payment
MSRP
The sticker price, including destination and options. GM Financial applies the residual percentage to this number, so it matters even if you pay less.
Selling Price
What you agree to pay before any lease cash. On a Sierra or Yukon, dealers often discount by several thousand dollars, and each $1,000 off saves roughly $30 a month on a 36-month lease.
Residual
The share of MSRP GM Financial expects the vehicle to be worth at the end. GMC trucks and SUVs tend to hold their value, so residuals are usually healthy, though they drop as you add miles or months.
Money Factor
The finance charge, written as a decimal. Multiply it by 2,400 for the approximate APR. On a $70,000 Denali, the rent charge alone can be a third of the payment, so a lower money factor is worth more on a GMC than on a cheaper car.
Denali, AT4 or Elevation: How the Trim Changes the Lease
On a GMC the trim can matter as much as the model. A Denali carries a much higher MSRP than an Elevation, so even with a similar residual percentage you pay for far more depreciation every month. Off-road AT4 trims add equipment that may or may not hold its value as well.
Run each trim you are considering through the calculator with its own MSRP, price and residual. Sometimes a trim with lease cash or a stronger residual costs only a little more per month than a cheaper one, and sometimes the gap is bigger than the price difference suggests.
Example: Leasing a GMC Pickup
Here is a 36-month lease on a Sierra-sized pickup with a $62,000 MSRP, negotiated to $58,500, with $3,000 down, a 58% residual and a 0.00240 money factor (5.76% APR) at 12,000 miles a year and 7% tax. These are example numbers only.
| Step | Math | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Adjusted cap cost | $58,500 − $3,000 | $55,500.00 |
| Residual value | $62,000 × 58% | $35,960.00 |
| Monthly depreciation | ($55,500 − $35,960) ÷ 36 | $542.78 |
| Monthly rent charge | ($55,500 + $35,960) × 0.00240 | $219.50 |
| Base payment | $542.78 + $219.50 | $762.28 |
| Payment with 7% tax | $762.28 × 1.07 | $815.64 |
The rent charge here is more than $219 a month, because it is charged on the cap cost plus the residual. On a truck this expensive, getting the buy-rate money factor instead of a marked-up one can save hundreds over the lease.
Leasing a GMC for Towing and Work
Many GMC buyers tow trailers, campers or equipment. A lease can still work, but think about three things before you sign:
- Miles. Towing trips add miles fast. Choose a higher annual mileage plan at signing rather than paying the overage charge later.
- Wear. Bed damage, hitch wear and scratched trim can count as excess wear at turn-in. A bed liner and careful loading help, and wear protection can be added to the lease.
- Business use. If the truck is used for a business, talk to your tax adviser. Lease payments for business use may be deductible in a way loan payments are not.
For a Sierra HD that will tow heavy loads for years, buying usually makes more sense than leasing.
Ending a GMC Lease With GM Financial
GMC leases are handled by GM Financial, the same lender used by Chevrolet, Buick and Cadillac. Before the end of the lease you can book a free pre-return inspection at home, at work or at a dealer. When you return the vehicle, GM Financial may waive the disposition fee if you lease or buy a new GM vehicle, and a partial excess wear waiver may apply too.
If you would rather keep the truck, you can buy it from GM Financial at any time during the lease, and the purchase is processed by a GM dealer. Buying it also avoids any charges for extra miles or wear.
How Sales Tax Changes a GMC Lease
Taxes are set by your state and can make a big difference on an expensive truck. Where tax is charged on each payment, a $900 Yukon payment might gain $60 to $90 a month. Where the state taxes the full price upfront, the tax on a $75,000 Sierra Denali can be several thousand dollars due at signing, which changes whether leasing makes sense at all. Pick your state’s method in the calculator before comparing a lease with a loan.
Lease or Buy a GMC?
Many GMC buyers keep their trucks for a long time, and heavy towing and high mileage favor ownership. Leasing makes more sense if you want the latest Denali technology every few years, drive a predictable number of miles, or use the truck in a business and want a fixed monthly cost. Run both options through the numbers: the calculator’s total cost, minus nothing returned, versus a loan payment over the same months minus the truck’s expected trade-in value.
Leasing a GMC Hummer EV or Sierra EV
The Hummer EV and Sierra EV carry high prices, and used EV values are still settling. A lease fixes the residual in your contract, so GM Financial takes the risk if values fall. The federal clean vehicle credit for leases ended on September 30, 2025, so any discount now comes from GMC lease cash or the dealer. Enter both in the calculator to see the real payment.
Yukon, Acadia or Terrain: Comparing GMC SUVs for a Lease
GMC’s three SUVs sit at very different prices. The Terrain is the compact model and has the lowest payment in the lineup. The Acadia, redesigned to be larger, competes with three-row family SUVs and often carries GMC lease offers. The full-size Yukon and longer Yukon XL cost far more, but they hold their value well, which supports a solid residual. When you compare them, use the same term, miles and down payment, and look at the total cost rather than the monthly payment alone. A Denali trim on any of them raises the MSRP considerably, and the residual percentage does not always rise to match.
What Is Due at Signing on a GMC Lease
A GMC lease worksheet usually lists the first month’s payment, the acquisition fee, the dealer documentation fee, title and registration and any cash down. In states that tax leases upfront, tax is added here too. On a Sierra Denali, those items together can reach several thousand dollars even on a “low down” deal. Enter each of them in the calculator, and compare its Due at Signing total with the dealer’s number before you sign.
Ending a GMC Lease Early
If you need to end the lease early, get a payoff quote from GM Financial. Trucks like the Sierra often have good trade-in value, so a dealer may be able to buy the truck out for close to or more than the payoff. Simply returning it before the end usually means paying the remaining payments or an early termination charge, so compare the options before deciding.
Choosing a Mileage Plan for a GMC
Trucks and big SUVs tend to rack up miles on road trips, towing and work. A lease quoted at 10,000 miles a year will look cheaper than one at 15,000, but if you end up driving 15,000 anyway, the overage at 25 cents a mile adds $3,750 over a three-year lease. Buying the miles at signing usually costs less, because the extra depreciation is spread over the lease and the lender sets a lower residual instead of charging you a penalty. Enter your real yearly miles in the calculator’s lease end section, then compare the mileage plans in the results to see which is cheapest overall.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who finances GMC leases?
GMC leases are financed by GM Financial, General Motors’ captive lender. It sets the residual values and base money factors for every GMC model.
Why is my GMC Denali lease so expensive?
Denali trims have much higher MSRPs, so you pay for more depreciation each month even with a similar residual percentage. The rent charge is also higher because it is based on the larger cap cost and residual.
Can I lease a GMC Sierra HD?
Yes. Heavy-duty Sierras can be leased like other GMC models, but high mileage and towing wear can make lease-end charges expensive. Choose a higher mileage plan if you tow often.
How many miles do I get on a GMC lease?
Common plans are 10,000, 12,000 and 15,000 miles a year, and some deals offer other allowances. The plan is set in your lease agreement, and extra miles are charged per mile at lease end.
Can I return a GMC lease at any GM dealer?
Your original dealer is the best place to return it. If you have moved, GM Financial lets you return the vehicle to another participating GM dealer. Call ahead to confirm.
Is a GMC lease negotiable?
Yes. You can negotiate the selling price, refuse unwanted add-ons and ask for the buy-rate money factor. The residual value is set by GM Financial and cannot be negotiated.
What credit score is needed for a GMC lease?
GM Financial uses credit tiers. The best tier gets the base money factor; lower tiers pay a higher rate or may need a security deposit.
Does GMC offer lease extensions?
GM Financial has offered short lease extensions, often one month at a time, if your next vehicle is not ready. Ask before your lease ends.
Can I buy my GMC before the lease ends?
Yes. GM Financial allows an early buyout. The price is the remaining payments plus the residual, minus unearned rent charges, so ask for a payoff quote.
Is the GMC disposition fee waived?
GM Financial may waive the disposition fee when you lease or buy another new GM vehicle, or when you buy your leased GMC.
How This GMC Lease Calculator Works
The calculator applies the standard lease formula used by GM Financial and other lenders: monthly depreciation plus a rent charge, with sales tax handled the way your state taxes leases. It does not pull live GMC offers, which change every month, so use the numbers from your own lease worksheet for the most accurate result.
